Getting started with the sole trader service

Truster Pro Light is a sole trader service where you invoice with your own Business ID (Y-tunnus) and Truster Works Oy (Business ID 3131729-7) handles invoicing, bookkeeping and statutory filings for you. Getting started has four stages: two happen in the Truster app and two in the Suomi.fi service.

1Order the service in the app
The order is placed in the Truster app: open the menu, choose "Subscription", open the "Sole trader" tab and select Truster Pro Light. Placing the order requires strong identification, and during the order you choose an industry for your business. If you already have a Business ID, the order works the same way: I already have a Business ID, can I use the service?
2Grant the personal mandates
After the order we send you a mandate request in the Suomi.fi service. With the mandate you give us permission to either open a Business ID for you or fetch the details of your existing Business ID. Without the mandate, the order does not proceed. See How do I grant personal mandates? If the mandate request does not appear in Suomi.fi, you can grant the mandate manually.
3Follow the establishment of your business
After you grant the mandate, we establish your sole proprietorship or connect your existing Business ID to the service. You can follow the progress in the app view "Order progress". The service becomes active as soon as the Finnish Tax Administration has registered your business.
4Grant the company mandates
Once your business is registered, we ask you for one more mandate: the company mandates. With them we file VAT returns and the business tax return, and pay your taxes on your behalf. See How do I grant company mandates?
What does the service cost?
There are no monthly fees: the base fee is 3.99% of the VAT 0% amount of each invoice, plus Truster Turva 2.5%. Opening the sole proprietorship is free of charge for Pro Light subscribers when the subscription stays active for at least 6 months and the business invoices through Truster during that time.
