Why are mandates required?
Contents
In order to handle your company's affairs, we need your electronic permission in the Suomi.fi service. Without a mandate, Truster is just an app on your phone; with the mandates, we are your accountant. We need two separate mandates from you, and both are essential, but they are used at different stages.
When to use this: This article explains what the mandates are for. The step-by-step granting guides are separate articles: personal mandates and company mandates.
1Personal mandates
The first mandate is requested right after ordering, and it is the permission to start the service.
With personal mandates we open a Business ID (Y-tunnus) for you or retrieve the details of your existing company. If this mandate is missing, the order cannot proceed past the first step and we cannot open your account.
2Company mandates
The second mandate is requested once your Business ID is active, and it is the permission to handle your tax matters.
With company mandates we file VAT returns and the business tax return, and pay taxes to the Tax Administration on your behalf. If this mandate is missing, taxes go unreported and unpaid, which leads to tax increases and late-payment fees even if you otherwise use the service normally.
3Check the status of your mandates
You can see in the app whether your mandates are in order.
Open "Manage your company" in the app and go to "Tax payment information". If the page is empty, the mandate is missing.
