Work without an employment contract — how does it work?
More and more companies outsource part of their work to freelancers, gig workers and other independent professionals. The reason is simple: expertise is often needed for a project, a season, or a few hours a week — not a full-time employment relationship. Traditionally this has meant choosing between two awkward options for a company: either hire and take on employer obligations, or require the worker to have their own company for invoicing.
Truster removes that choice. The worker invoices for their work through Truster without a company of their own, and Truster pays their wages, handles withholding tax, statutory payments and insurance. To your business, Truster simply looks like a regular supplier: you receive an invoice, you pay it, and your bookkeeping stays clean. No employment relationship arises between you and the worker, since the worker operates independently and agrees on the terms of the work directly with you.
The model is especially well suited to project work, seasonal help, sales, distribution and event tasks, and expert work — anything where flexibility benefits both sides. Expenses travel with the work
Gig work generates expenses: travel, tools, supplies and per diems. In Truster, the worker adds expenses directly in the app — scanning the receipt is enough, and the vendor, amount and VAT are picked up automatically. Mileage allowances and per diems are recorded the same way with a few taps.
For your business this means two things. First: if you've agreed that expenses will be billed to the client, the worker attaches them to the invoice as itemized lines — you see exactly what you're paying for, and there's no need to circulate piles of receipts or separate expense reports by email. Second: the worker's own deductible expenses are automatically accounted for in their pay and taxation, so you don't need to take any position on how the worker's expenses are handled.
All expenses stay in the app along with their receipts. If an invoice ever needs to be checked later, the breakdown is found in seconds — no digging through folders or lost receipts.
Consolidated invoicing — many workers, one invoice
When several workers invoice your business through Truster, you don't have to process their invoices one by one. We combine the workers' invoices into a single consolidated invoice: you get one invoice with each worker's work itemized on its own line.
For your accounts payable, the difference is significant. Processing one reference number and one payment takes a fraction of the time that circulating, approving and reconciling dozens of separate invoices would take — yet the breakdown remains complete. You see per-worker amounts, tasks and periods directly on the invoice.
Consolidated invoicing is especially suited to situations with many workers or frequent invoicing — for example distribution and logistics teams, event staff and sales organisations. The invoicing rhythm is matched to your process: weekly, every two weeks or monthly.
The API removes manual work

Getting started is easy
Adopting Truster isn't an IT project. The first gig can go through the service today: the worker downloads the app, verifies their identity with online banking credentials, and sends an invoice — nothing changes on your end, except that the paperwork disappears. What does the service cost our business?
