HetiPalkka

Work done? Money in your account today.

Why do payment terms drain freelancers?

In Finnish business invoicing, a 14–30 day payment term is the norm, and larger companies often stretch it to 45 or 60 days. For the person doing the work, that means work completed in June gets paid in August — but rent, food and bills don't wait. This cash-flow gap is one of the most frustrating structural problems in independent work: the job is done and accepted, but the money is stuck in the client's payment schedule.

HetiPalkka was built to close exactly this gap. It's not a loan or a credit card — it's your pay, paid out as soon as the work is done, with Truster carrying the wait on your behalf. You price the job, do the work, and get paid; we make sure the client's payment term is our problem, not yours.

Many of our users describe the difference simply: gig work only started to feel like real paid work once they could decide their own payday. The same shift shows up in the confidence to take on bigger jobs — a month-long project no longer means a month without income, which is why HetiPalkka grows many freelancers' businesses just as much as it smooths out their cash flow.

What happens after you make a request?

When you request HetiPalkka on a sent invoice, two things happen behind the scenes. We send your customer a confirmation request to make sure the invoice matches the agreed work — and we check the customer's credit information. Both protect you: a confirmed invoice can't be disputed later, and a credit check flags any payment issues on the customer's side early.

If there are no issues, your pay is transferred on a weekday between 8 am and 4 pm — often the same day as the request. If payment is blocked for some reason, we contact you immediately and explain why; the invoice then continues normally toward its due date, and you lose nothing.

For you, the whole process is a single tap in the app and a notification once the money is on its way. Everything else — confirmations, checks, payment processing — happens within Truster's systems. Your customer pays the invoice as normal on the original due date, so nothing changes on their end and no one feels chased.

Who is HetiPalkka for?

HetiPalkka suits anyone whose customers are businesses and whose finances can't flex around weeks-long payment terms. For a freelancer, it means a large project invoice doesn't tie up a month's income while you wait. For gig and seasonal workers, it brings a weekly rhythm: Friday's job can be Monday's pay. And for full-time light entrepreneurs, it makes income predictable even when customers' payment habits vary.

The service is used invoice by invoice: you can request HetiPalkka for a busy month and let less urgent invoices follow their normal course. Nothing is switched on permanently, and not using it costs nothing. Note, however, that HetiPalkka is only available for invoices to business customers — invoices to private individuals always follow the normal route.

It's worth thinking of the 5% service fee as a pricing question: many freelancers build it into their quote for jobs where fast pay matters. That way, cash-flow certainty doesn't have to eat into your own margin — and the app always shows the fee in euros before you confirm.

HetiPalkka, Pikamaksu, or a regular withdrawal?

With Truster, your pay can travel three different routes, and the choice is always yours. A regular withdrawal is free: once the customer has paid the invoice, you withdraw your pay to your account on the normal payment schedule. It's fine when there's no rush.

Pikamaksu (€25/payment) speeds up the final step: the invoice has already been paid, but you want the money in your account right away instead of on the next payout run. HetiPalkka (5% of the invoice), on the other hand, removes the wait entirely — your pay is transferred even before the customer has paid the invoice.

Rule of thumb: if the invoice is already paid and you're in a hurry, choose Pikamaksu; if the invoice is still waiting for its due date and you need the money now, choose HetiPalkka. The app shows the fee in euros for both before you confirm, so you can decide on a per-invoice basis, with full information and no surprises.

And if you simply want the peace of mind that your invoices get paid on time, Maksuvahti (€1.99/invoice) follows up with your customers on your behalf. Three tools, three different needs — all in the same app, ready whenever you decide to use them.

Getting started takes nothing

HetiPalkka isn't a separate contract or a service you need to activate — it's available to every Truster user right away. If you're not yet using Truster, getting started takes minutes: download the app, verify your identity with online banking credentials, and send your first invoice. All the money tools — HetiPalkka, Pikamaksu and Maksuvahti — are available to you from your very first invoice.
