What does this mean for you as a service provider?

If you offer work that qualifies for the household tax credit, such as cleaning, renovation or garden work, your customer can claim back part of the price in their taxes. That's a concrete selling point: state the labour share clearly in your quote and invoice so the customer can easily claim the deduction. The credit only covers the labour share, not materials or travel.

The government has proposed raising the credit to €2,100 and increasing the reimbursement rate to 40%, with the change to take effect retroactively from 1 January 2026. The proposal has not yet been passed into law, so tell customers the currently applicable amounts and keep an eye on confirmation. We'll update this page as soon as the situation changes.
